Introduction

Dr. D. Neelamegam obtained his B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. degrees from Pondicherry University. He is currently serving as a Faculty Member in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Senapati, Manipur – 795001, an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

He has over 14 years of extensive teaching and research experience, having served in various premier institutions across India. His research expertise includes the development of non-destructive sensing systems using spectroscopic techniques, hyperspectral imaging and processing techniques, and drone technology. He has published more than 25 research papers in reputed journals and conferences and holds six patents.

He has also successfully completed a research project worth ₹. 96,81,400/-under the North Eastern Region – Himalayan Bioresource Mission, funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, in collaboration with Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and the Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Manipur.

Dr. D. Neelamegam is a Senior Member of IEEE, with memberships in the Photonics Society, Nanotechnology Council, and Sensors Council. He is also a Life Member of SEMCE and a Member of the International Council of Near Infrared Spectroscopy.

  1. Development of sensing systems for rapid and in situ assessment of Black Rice, Ginger (Zingiber officinale), Elsholtzia griffithii, and Cinnamomum zeylanicum of North-East India using spectroscopic (NIR and Raman) technologies.
